A ChatterPix alternative for making your pet talk or sing
ChatterPix lets you take a photo, draw a line for the mouth and record your voice, and it is free. TalkingPets does a narrower job: it makes pet photos talk and sing. You upload a photo of your pet, type what it should say or pick a song, and TalkingPets lip-syncs your pet to the sound, in the web browser on a phone or computer.
Works in the browser · first video free · for ages 13 and up
Where to get ChatterPix
Checked October 2026. ChatterPix comes in two versions, both from Duck Duck Moose, which is part of Khan Academy.
- ChatterPix Kids
- Made for children. Free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and on Google Play for Android.
- ChatterPix
- The version Duck Duck Moose made for adults, with sharing to email and social media. Free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Duck Duck Moose says all of its apps are free, with no ads or subscriptions.
Who TalkingPets is for
TalkingPets is for teens and adults. It is not directed to children under 13. Making a video means entering an email address and uploading your photo to be processed online. If a child is making their own talking picture, ChatterPix Kids is built for that.
If you are the grown-up making the video yourself, like a birthday message from the family dog or your cat singing a song, TalkingPets works on the phone or laptop you already have.
What TalkingPets does differently
- There is no mouth to draw. Upload a photo and TalkingPets lip-syncs your pet to the sound.
- Your pet can say words you type, in a voice you pick, so nobody has to record.
- Your pet can sing: pick a song that is trending on TikTok, or paste a TikTok link.
- It runs in a web browser, so it works on a laptop or desktop as well as a phone.
When ChatterPix is the better pick
- You want it completely free. TalkingPets gives you one free video with a watermark, and Unlimited is a subscription.
- A child is the one making it.
- You want to make something other than a pet talk, like a friend or a doodle. Duck Duck Moose says ChatterPix can make anything talk. TalkingPets is built for pet photos.
- You want stickers, frames and filters on top.
